New this year, Watch for Me NC partners will participate in one half-day action plan workshop. This is an opportunity to bring members of your coalition together with other partner communities to begin developing your road map for how you will implement the Watch for Me program in your community over the next several months. This forum allows for a cross-pollination of strategies between new and returning partner communities to foster a broader sense of collaboration and peer support while equipping communities with tools and resources needed to get started.

By attending this workshop, partner communities will:

  • Receive tools, tips, and resources to help develop a plan of action to conduct educational and enforcement activities.
    • Understand the importance of establishing a strong network of coalition members to aid in outreach efforts and leverage enforcement strategies.
    • Develop ideas to launch a successful and impactful kickoff event.
    • Name three resources that can aid in reaching the public and maintaining a presence of WFM messages in the media.
    • Explain how data can be used to refine or focus education and enforcement activities.
  • Build a relationship with the HSRC team and other coalitions.

Each partner community is required to attend only one workshop. Time is devoted for small groups to work on developing your plan. Therefore, we encourage you to invite and register 2 to 6 individuals from your coalition to attend. Coalition members may include representatives from law enforcement; planning, engineering, community development, or other similar agency department; public health or injury prevention organization; school, school district, or Active Routes to School coordinator; or local advocacy group, cycling club, bicycle and pedestrian advisory commission, or other similar organization. This Action Planning Workshop is in addition to, and separate from, the training dedicated to law enforcement, and is an opportunity to work with your local coalition members in other divisions to help leverage your Watch for Me efforts.

Please complete a registration for each individual attending so that we can plan accordingly. Please do not group registrations.

Please register by Monday, May 14.
